Chicken bittersweet

I don’t know too much about cuisine but I know a couple good plates. One of this one’s is the chicken bittersweet. The Ingredients are: 2 Lb chicken breast, two egg onions, ½ Lb Margarine, ½ cup of ketchup, ½ cup orange juice, and two spoonful of vinegar.

The first step is fried the chicken breast with de margarine, just brown the chicken a little bite. Then remove the chicken breast and use the same margarine to fry the onion (the onions have to be chopping in small squares). While you are frying the onion you should prepare the sauce. Use a container to mix the ketchup, vinegar and the orange juice. When you have a homogeneous mixture you can add sugar and salt as much as you want. Then add the sauce to the fried onion in one pot that you can fry and put later in the oven. Remember that you should keep the margarine with the fried onion. Cook the sauce with the fried onion for 5 minutes and then add the chicken breast and put in to the oven for 30 minutes at 250⁰C. Check the chicken before remove it from the oven. You should serve the kitchen with mush potatoes and Cesar salad.

The best feeling

In life, everyone needs to have exciting moment to feel a live. Everyone needs be in a social community to feel like a human being.  And everyone needs to have somebody to love. Love is the best feeling in this life. All the things or moments of our lives are better when you have love in your heart. You can feel or have love for a person, profession, thing, animal or anything. The important thing is to love.

In my life, I chose a person to deposit all my love. The happiest moments of my life have been with my wife. She is the most important ingredient of the recipe of a happy life. When you feel really good with someone and this person feels the same about you, the entire world falls at your feet. It is not important how big your debts are, or how big your social problems are, or how bad your conditions are but if you have love, you can overcome them.

Not all the moments are happiness (moments are not all happiness). You can have a difficult economic situation, or a big family problem, or maybe a difficult disease and love may not be enough to overcome these moments in your heart. Sadness can be really devastating to your mind, but with a person who supports you, you can toss all your problems easily. The person who supports you can be anyone but you better be in love with her or him. Love is always tested for good and bad moments especially in bad situations.

A good beginning is all that anyone wants to have when they want to start a business, company, trip, relationship or anything. The best way to start and continue to grow is with love. For a start you must be in love with the person who is going to be your spouse. All this love will bring fruits that will be your children. If your children will grow up with love, they are going to be good people in society. So live in love and I hope you have a happy life and a good future for our world.

Framing, My new profession

Framing is a professional job that involves building houses, decks, balconies and any kind of construction that needs walls. The idea is to build a frame of lumber for holding and installing drywall or other materials for the finished structure. The frame keeps the shape of the building. If the house doesn’t have a good frame, the roofers, hardwood flooring people, drywalls people, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other specialists are going to be in trouble when they do their own installation.

I discovered this job in Calgary while I was looking for survivor jobs. I was seeking something in construction because I was told that I could earn more income doing framing than other survivor jobs. This profession was totally new for me. I didn’t work construction in Colombia. Also, construction is different in Colombia. There, the people don’t use lumber for construction. All the houses in Colombia are made of concrete and steel and don’t use wood to build. When you compare these two styles of construction you can think that a wooden frame is fragile. Of course, concrete and steel are stronger than lumber. But lumber is strong enough for structures of up to four levels. Lumber is so cheaper than concrete and steel, wich makes a big difference if you want to save money or make a good budget for your construction.
When you frame a house you must to start building the floor. The floor frame has to be done before sheeting. Then you start with the walls of the main floor and after that again make the entire frame for the next storey of the house. And again over the floor build the walls for the second floor and after that you can install the roof frame for sheeting later. All the frames are similar. You have to build squares using studs, sheets, nails, plates and staples. The tools that you can use are nail guns, staple guns, saws, levels, chuck lines, tape meters, squares, drills and hammers. In all the constructions you must follow the plans, and you have to build exactly how they design the house.
I enjoy this job because is a creative and artistic activity. You can meet good people and practice your language. You can enjoy the view working outside and every month you change your work place. You can do a lot of physical exercise and keep your body healthy. Maybe in the future I can build my own house and complete my dream. This job was and is a good experience in my life.

How to enjoy the winter, a Colombian advice

Everybody knows that winter is the coldest season of the year, but some like me don't know. Also, the sun is a "lazy guy" for two or three months. It gets up late and goes to sleep early, and is not warm enough to heat up your body. The worst part is how long the cold is, more than four months. In Calgary the weather is really crazy. Today we can have an amazing day and tomorrow it is snow, cold, and freeze.

My wife and I are tropical people. We came from Colombia, one of the countries close the Equator. That means that it is warm all year around and daylight hours are the same every day. So the winter is all new for us. And we were worried about all of these changes of our lives. The first thing that everybody says every day in winter is "keep warm." So you must buy special clothes for the winter, and "special" means expensive. But you can find good deals buying clothes, which you learn after buying expensive jackets. Winter is a hard time, but technology gives a huge help. Your apartment must have heating in good condition. Watching the weather channel in the morning helps to know how to deal with every day.
When you are ready for the cold, you will forget about the cold. You need to think positive and keep your mind busy. So you could have a full-time job or part-time job and study. Each weekend you need to practice some winter sport. In my case, I practice skating. It is very good. It is the kind of sport that you can practice with your wife and friends. Skating is not expensive like snowboarding or skiing. You can go to free frozen lakes and indoor rings. Also, the equipment is cheap. You must buy a pair of skates to skate. But you don't want to stay outside your home all winter. At home you should have some fun toys. I have my XBOX360, home theatre, PC games, and movies. You should be happy all the time.
The winter is strange for us. But each one can find a way to overcome this season. The winter is fun. We can enjoy all the new things. The snow is not a problem. It is the essential factor for winter sports. Next winter, I'm going to receive the cold much better, without concerns and with a lot of activities to do.
